Sarkis Vartanian is the owner of The Daily Dose, a Los Angeles arts district cafe nestled within a whimsical cobblestone corridor. I’ve been on a Daily Dose kick for a few months now – excellent coffee, freshly made brunch and lunch bites as well as insanely delectable raw desserts. Everything that comes out of this joint is made mindfully, with the intention of creating whole, organic-based, locally sourced food.
After weight-related health issues arose, Sarkis cut out cigarettes, junk foods, and unhealthy toxins to jump into a fresh start a few years ago. Upon opening Daily Dose, it is obvious that he infuses his decision to make health his lifestyle into every dish created, thus encouraging others to take care of their bodies as well. No wonder he is a hit amongst fashionistas, bloggers and the artsy crowd. His favorite dish on the menu? The farmer’s market sandwich – perfect for vegetarians.
A serial entrepreneur, Sarkis’s pursuits do not only lie within the cafe – he is currently working on a community farm project in DTLA, set to open next year. About an acre in size, this all organic farm will also feature a farmer’s market where members of the community will be able to come and buy their produce.
Be sure to swing past Daily Dose Cafe on your next visit to L.A. to feed your mind and body!
